2022 Update

Hello All,

First, we wanted to wish you all a happy New Year, and we hope you all had very happy holidays. We also hope that 2022 is a better year for everyone than it seems the last couple have been. We thought it prudent to address the last year in the market, ask for any updates to your financial picture, and tidy up all of our records.

This last year in the market was a volatile one indeed. The beginning half of the year started with a heavy lean towards energy and financials. As you all know we believe in investing in companies that have great “ESG” scores. ESG stands for environmental, social, and governance. A lot of energy and financial companies don’t meet the standards for these criteria to be seen as ESG. Thus, we did not hold a lot of the stocks. Instead, we were tech heavy as it didn’t seem like COVID-19 was gone.  As some of our tech stocks did well, a lot of them were put under pressure from chip shortages and other supply chain issues.

The second half the year did take a turn and we were more properly positioned for the market climate. Volatility also took hold with more supply shortages and a lot of great companies being hampered by the inability to make enough product to keep up with the demand. As always, we trust in our process and know that while at times we may trail some market indexes on the upside that our commitment to you is to protect your assets. We want to renew that commitment to you in the new year.

As we mentioned above with the new year comes changes to financial pictures, addresses, and pertinent financial information. We ask that if you have any changes to this information that you notify us so we can get everything updated in our records and on your accounts.
